OUR STORY

Mike is an artist and craftsman who has always looked for unique and creative projects. The idea for the NeighBars came about when he and his wife Karyn (a corporate event planner) attended a wedding in South Carolina in February 2020, just 2 weeks before the Covid pandemic shut everything down. The reception was held at a country club, and they had hired a vintage horse trailer/mobile bar for the outdoor cocktail hour. They just loved the concept. However, the bar design was very basic and bland, and Mike knew he could create something better. When he returned home to PA, he began his search for a vintage horse trailer of his own to refurbish.

After 4 months of searching, Mike finally spotted a vintage trailer at an abandoned farmhouse in Doylestown. He contacted the owner, and as fate would have it, it was just weeks away from being hauled to the junk yard after having sat unused for 50 years. The owner was happy to let them have it since the property had just been sold.

So began the challenging restoration project of the first trailer, named “Tipsy.” Mike wanted to create something truly unique that would “wow” everyone who experienced it. He utilized all his skills and artistic talents during the Covid lockdown and completed Tipsy after 9 months of hard work. His background as a graphic artist enabled him to design the logo and create the website and shortly thereafter, they made it official and The NeighBars, Inc. was born. Since then, and due to the popularity of Tipsy…a second vintage trailer was added to the business, and “Randi” was completed in May of 2022. Also, they have now added a portable, fold-up bar named “Roxy” for smaller spaces or as an add-on if a second bar is needed.

They have had many bookings such as weddings, birthday parties, graduation celebrations, anniversary parties, fundraisers, and various other special events held on beautiful farms and private residences all over the Bucks/Mont/Philadelphia area and Southern New Jersey. Other well know venues include the Pearl S. Buck House, Glenmoore Farms, The Ivy Hill Equestrian Center, and The Grove at Kempton.

They have received accolades from virtually everyone who has used their services. “The Mobile Bar was a huge hit!” is the response they most often hear.
